Did I Get Riped Off? - Guild Wars Forums

This guy was selling me a sup vigor (iden) rune and a nice shield (16 armor, req 9 tactics, 45 to life in stance, -2 dmg in stance) for 30k, and im wondering if i got ripped off bad, cause my friend says i got ripped BADLY... kinda makes me angry... O ya, and im new, HI all!

not really....go check the price of Superior Vigors at the rune trader....last I checked(granted a while ago)..they were going for well over 30K

no u didn't get rip off. Just make sure the rune is really sup vigor. It's actually a very good deal

if you got the items you wanted you got a great deal in my opinion. Sup. vigor goes for like 40k alone

Well, I just checked the Sup Vigor prices, and they were at 34k, so I am pretty sure that is a good deal. You maybe even ripped the buyer off.

The shield is probably from a collector (Crimson Carapace Shield?), but still 30K for a Superior Vigor (if that is what you got) is less than the Rune Trader (47K at this very moment). You probably could have gotten it for less, but I wouldn't say you were ripped off.

Well, first, squeeze yourself to check for freshness.
If your skin turns red, you are indeed RIPE and may have been RIPED off.

Otherwise, you use the following words (in no particular order: )
"O ya, and im new", "30k" "i got ripped BADLY"

1.) If you needed the gear and rune, no you didn't get "ripped."
2.) If you are "new" how did you acquire 30k?
No wait, I don't want to know.

Not ripped off at all. The shield is not worth much since it's simply a collector item that you can get in probably half hours work if you know where to get the items. And if you wait til the rune prices are high, you can easily sell the Superior Vigor at 30k to the rune trader.

You don't know the half of it. Before the rune trader patch came - Sup Vigors were going for upwards of 100k!
When the rune traders were introduced the Sup Vigors were initially sold for 89K!

Superior Vigors were 200g when they reset the servers the first day rune traders were brought online... ahhh the cash influx....

All in all looks like a dam good deal you got with your *cough* ebay *cough* money.

I had 47k actually, i know many exploits in the game (chest raiding) and such that I would rather not tell about so they dont become patched, I get gold the easy way, salvaging and such and im sorry if i sound really selfish, Im used to being selfish in diablo2, thats where i came from, but i quit that game.

I wonder if this is worth anything, its a staff for a nec (improves cast time using curses (17%), 25 to life, 5 to armor and its gold, Is it worth much? First gold I found and i dont want to get ripped off like I did with my max dmg purple bow with psn lengthening and extra dmg when health below 50%, I sold that bow for 3k...

I love these forums, thank you for the quick replies, great site here, I think ill call it home :P

EDIT: Im new to the site, not to the game, lol, ive been on the game for 3-4k weeks now.

I dont think you got rip off. And damn that guy is generous in a way. But last time I checked sup vigors is 41k in Europe.
